Retinol is one of the most extensively studied skincare ingredients for addressing visible signs of aging. As a vitamin A derivative, it supports skin cell turnover and collagen production, helping improve the appearance of fine lines, uneven pigmentation, and rough texture with consistent use.

At 0.1%, this formula offers a relatively low concentration of retinol, making it a potential starting point for beginners. However, concentration alone doesn't determine tolerability, and even lower-strength retinol products can cause dryness or irritation during the adjustment period.

New to retinol? Start with a pea-sized amount on clean, completely dry skin two nights per week, gradually increasing frequency as tolerated. Follow with moisturizer, or sandwich the cream between two layers of moisturizer if your skin is prone to dryness.

Avoid layering with exfoliating acids or other retinoids in the same routine when starting out. Use broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher daily, and skip retinoids during pregnancy.
